Also known as a Shelby knot, the Pratt knot offers the wearer a tidy and wide knot that is still slimmer that the Windsor knot while being symmetrical. What makes the Pratt knot unusual is that it starts with a reverse side out and is ideal for shorter ties.
Start facing your mirror with the tie draped across your neck with the reverse side of the tie facing upwards, the wider side draped longer on your right hand side.
Pull the wider end to the left keeping it under the narrow end.
Loop the wide end over and under the narrow end.
Pull the loop to taut the knot.
Pull the wide end to the right hand side.
Pull the wide end upwards behind the loop.
To end it bring the wide end through the knot and tighten gently.
